Misfat Al Abriyyin

The balance of past and present.

There are ‘Misfats’ all over Oman. I was told by my city guide that misfat means “surrounded by 3 sides.” By the way, my guide’s last name is Al Abriyyin - his family founded this city. It will stay here as long as the spring runs.

This city is being reborn, rebuilt. The workers are taking their time repairing the ruins. There is a pride in the history and, I think, the residents want to keep the quaintness. Everyone is related. They all work together to keep the story going. I will visit again and I can’t wait to slow down and breathe.
